Safety and Communication

The Rendezvous Glamping site is a remote location. However, we take safety very seriously and want all our guests to have a safe and enjoyable experience. All guides are certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. There is a base station radio for communication down to the main office of the Goosewing Ranch. There is limited Wifi also available. Each wagon comes with a battery-operated lantern, a can of bear pepper spray, and an air horn. There is a detailed orientation around camp upon arrival as well. Your enjoyment and safety are the priorities for us. Again, there is NO cell coverage, but there IS Internet available throughout the camp. Our strict check-in time allows us to give you a detailed orientation upon arrival, to ensure you are safe and comfortable.

Packing, Weather and Temps

Horseback Riding: Jeans, Cowboy boots or slick soled enclosed shoes with at least a 1 1/2″ heel, wide brimmed hat or cowboy hat with stampede strings, long sleeve/light weight shirt, gloves, fleece or extra layer. Fishing/Hiking/Biking: Shorts or light weight easy dry pants, river shoes or sandals that strap on to your feet (no flip flops), light weight easy dry shirt, walking or hiking boots/shoes, ball cap, and sunglasses. Essentials: Sunscreen, bug spray, medication, camera, bathing suit, light weight jacket or extra layer for cool mornings and evenings, light weight packable rain gear, warmer clothing for early and late season visitors or pack trippers/glampers.

Weather

Weather can be very unpredictable in the mountains and can change very quickly. We suggest dressing in layers, always applying sunblock, drinking lots of water, and being prepared for vast temperature fluctuations between morning, noon, and evening. Our summers are typically warm and dry. May/June will see more rain than July or August and by September the autumn weather is arriving. Temps range from high 80s during the day to 30s at night and early morning. But, it can snow any day of the year and we have been known for below freezing temps even in July. Days can be hot with intense sunshine, so, hats and lightweight long sleeve clothing is essential.

There are no other accommodations available if inclement weather persists, glampers will have to tough it out.

Transportation

Shuttles can be arranged with advanced notice of at least one month prior to check-in. The shuttle fee is $200 + tax per round trip. Additional shuttle fees may apply for additional trips to and from Jackson. If you choose to drive yourself you will need to arrive at our guest ranch location first for check-in, see directions to Goosewing Ranch. You can park your car at the guest ranch and there you will be provided with a Polaris Ranger UTV to use during your time with us. From the guest ranch you will drive the UTV to the Rendezvous Glamping site with one of our staff members. We estimate that it will take about 1.5 hours to get from downtown Jackson to the ranch, and an additional 20 minutes to the glamping site.

Directions

Directions to Goosewing Ranch: We recommend you print directions and use them along with your GPS devices. GPS devices are not always accurate in the mountains. Use the physical address of 24400 East Cottonwood Creek Road, Kelly Wyoming 83011. Starting from Jackson, follow signs to Yellowstone: head NORTH out of town on North Cache (Hwy 89.) Continue driving about 5 miles into Grand Teton Park, along the Elk Refuge. Just after crossing the Gros Ventre River, turn RIGHT (heading EAST) at the Gros Ventre Junction sign. **If driving from the airport OR YELLOWSTONE, drive SOUTH towards Jackson until you get to the Gros Ventre Junction, and turn LEFT**

Drive about 7 miles, through the small town of Kelly, following the sharp curve to the left. After half a mile, turn RIGHT onto the Gros Ventre Road; you will see signs for Red Hills and Crystal Creek campgrounds.

Pass the warm springs and follow the road for about 5 miles; you will pass Slide Lake and the road will turn to dirt.

Continue driving on the dirt road for a total of about 15 miles. Just past the Red Rock Ranch driveway, there is a fork in the road with a sign marking the Slate Creek Trail / Gros Ventre Road. Keep RIGHT at the fork to stay on the Gros Ventre Road; you are 9 miles from Goosewing.

Arriving at the second junction, turn LEFT, cross the Gros Ventre River and drive 2 miles. Our ranch gate will be on the right side. Congratulations, you made it to Goosewing!
